About Cristian Puig

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, his mother was a flamenco singer and his father a flamenco guitarist.

Started classical and flamenco training at age 19, studied with Quique de Cordoba, also studying jazz and other forms of music with various teachers.

In 1990 formed flamenco group "Rabat" and toured throughout South America.

Cristian has worked with many artists, fusing flamenco with bossa-nova, jazz and tango. He composes his own music as well.

Artists he has worked with include: Chuscales (renowned guitarist with many CDs and DVDs), conducter Peter Nero, Gloria Monreal (established flamenco singer), and he is co-founder of De Luna a Lunares ensemble, and recorded with Chango Farias Gomez on their first CD in 1995.

Cristian is unusual in flamenco for the fact that he is a great guitarist-composer, and a marvelous singer—a rarity in that musical culture.

About Blane Bostock

Blane Bostock started playing guitar at age nine, began formal studies in jazz at 13 with Ed Flanagan (assistant Dean of Music at Temple University) and studied with Dennis Sandole (author of "Guitar Lore" and teacher of John Coltrane, George Benson).

Blane played for years in bands ranging from jazz to soul to big bands. He spent a number of years playing with Bob Malach (saxophonist for Stevie Wonder, Stanley Clark and Madonna).

He played for many years with his family, in both "Swirled Whale" and "Bostock," a group which has played many times at "World Cafe Live" in Philadelphia and for numerous weddings and in clubs around Philadelphia.

In 2003 he appeared with founder of Fania records Johnny Pacheco in a "Night of Latin Classics" at both Allentown Symphony and the Annenberg Center at the University of Pennsylvania as a soloist in an orchestra featuring arrangements created especially for this show by artists such as Reuben Gonzales (pianist with "Buena Vista Social Club"), trombone master Papo Vasquez and other well known composers of Latin music.

He has also played a number of small shows with "Pasion y Arte," a Philadelphia based flamenco group.

In mid '90s Blane began studying flamenco with Elba y Vaca, Tito and Anna Rubio, and did workshops with members of "Noche Flamenco" and performed with La China in workshop at AMLA in Philadelphia.

Blane writes his own music and is currently continuing his studies of flamenco, teaching music and performing as well.
