BACT presents Reader's Theatre

This fall, BACT is trying something different. Rather than fully design, costume, and stage one production, three shows have been selected to be performed as reader's theatre - where the emphasis is on character development and scenework, and the set/costumes/props are left to the audience's imaginations. Come see one show or all three!

Friday, Oct 6 | 7:30 PM
Saturday, Oct 14 | 7:30 PM

Tony Award nominee for best play, Outside Mullingar is a romantic comedy set in rural Ireland. Anthony and Rosemary are lovelorn farmers who haven’t got a clue when it comes to love. These hopeless singletons will need to overcome a bitter land feud, familial rivalries and their own romantic fears to find happiness. Full of dark humor and poetic prose, John Patrick Shanley's tenderhearted portrait reminds us it's never too late to take a chance on love.

Decision Height” tells the story of nine Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs) training at Avenger Field in Sweetwater, Texas between 1943 and 1944. Although the characters are fictional, their experiences were reality for over 1,000 women who heard the call to arms and signed up for wartime service. The play balances comedy, drama, friendship, sacrifice, history, and the good old-fashioned ‘girl power’ of the 1940s.
